Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
American performer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in LA this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
