Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician stands accused of carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
