Salah Issues Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the group of players following the fallout from his public comments.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the player.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
