Ways these Broncos together with their flexible QB could end the Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the football calendar , after recent talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Notable in those games was the number of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.
However it was positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome that deficit and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the game 21-17.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always sending extra defenders instead they could plug two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).
I love how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in positive situations.
This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.
His assets are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must cover the field vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for him.
The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps make him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need to do to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.
Ever since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.
It depends upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
